Frequently Asked Questions – Private Acropolis Tours

Are you a licensed tour guide?
Yes! I am a fully licensed, official tour guide in Greece, certified by the Greek Ministry of Tourism. This means you receive accurate information, expert storytelling, and authorized guidance at the Acropolis and all major archaeological sites.

Do you only offer private tours?
Yes — my tours are mainly private to ensure a personal experience. With private tours, you can set your own pace, ask questions freely, and tailor the program to your interests.

What is included in the Acropolis tour?
Your tour includes:
· Guided visit to the Acropolis and the Parthenon
· In-depth historical and cultural storytelling
· Personal insights into ancient Athens
· Assistance with entry logistics
(Tickets are generally not included unless requested in advance.)

How long does the tour last?
Most Acropolis tours last 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace and level of detail. Extended tours including the Acropolis Museum or surrounding areas can also be arranged.

Do you offer skip-the-line service?
Yes. I can purchase tickets in advance so you can avoid long queues and enter smoothly. Please request this when booking.

Where do we meet?
We usually meet outside the main entrance of the Acropolis. Exact details will be provided after booking.

In which languages are tours offered?
Tours are available in Dutch, French, German, English, Spanish, and Greek. If you need another language, feel free to ask and I will do my best to arrange it.

Is the Acropolis suitable for children or seniors?
Yes, with some considerations: the site involves walking on uneven marble surfaces and uphill paths. Strollers are not allowed. These can be left free of charge at the cloakroom, and a baby carrier is provided instead. Tours can be adapted for families, seniors, and visitors with mobility issues by adjusting pace and focus.

Is the Acropolis accessible for visitors with mobility issues?
The Acropolis has an elevator for wheelchair users, but accessibility depends on weather conditions and site capacity. Visitors with disabilities receive free entry + one companion. Please inform us in advance so we can assist with planning.

What should I wear or bring?
– Comfortable walking shoes
– Light, breathable clothing in summer (long clothing can actually keep you cooler than shorts)
– Hat/cap and sun protection (sunscreen or umbrella)
– Bring your own water bottle, as vending machines are often unreliable or sold out

What happens in extreme weather?
Tours run in most weather conditions. If the site closes due to extreme heat or safety reasons, we will reschedule or adjust the program.

How far in advance should I book?
Private tours are often fully booked, especially from April to October. We recommend booking at least 1–2 weeks in advance, or earlier for peak dates.

How do I book a tour?
Booking is simple:
– Contact us via the website form or email
– Confirm your date, time, group size, and preferences
– Receive your booking confirmation and details

A tour is only confirmed after a small deposit has been paid.

What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made 48 hours or more before the tour are fully refunded. Late cancellations or no-shows may be charged in full.

Is tipping expected?
Tipping is not required in Greece, but it is always appreciated if you enjoyed your experience.
